The surnames of my Great Great Grandparents are: Persinger/Briggs, Strasbaugh/Settles, Bartlett/Potter, Hellman/Karhoff, Christensen(Pedersen)/Nielsdatter (Nielsen), Langfeldt/Kjaergaard(Kiergaard), Roth/Reimer, Black/Harvey.
My family origins are in England, Ireland, Denmark, Germany & Switzerland with the English immigration to the USA being the earliest in the 1700's and the remaining families immigrating in the 1845-1895 time frame.
The surnames of my husband's Great Great Grandparents are: Kaatz/Zamzow, Zamzow/Schroeder, Boernke/Pophal, Mathwig/Graf, Sommerfeldt/Sasse, Lehmann/Zelke, Wiese/Kreigel, Lueck/Zautke.
My husband's family is 100% Prussian background, from the provinces of Brandenburg, Pommern, Posen and West Prussia. This area is largely in Poland, following WWII, but their background is largely German Protestant.

My "brick wall" ancestor is William L. Harvey born about 1795 likely in the Pittsburgh, PA, area (according to county history book from where he died in Floyd Co, IA) who married Mary Penina Boughner/Buchner in Ontario, Canada, and following her death in 1838 moved to Winnebago Co, IL. I would like to find William's origins - parents, siblings, etc. and believe there may be ties to Scotland but have no proof.
