bonjour, je suis nouvelle sur ce site, je viens de créer mon arbre généalogique, et en rentrant des données sur certaines personnes, j 'ai eu des "alertes" comme quoi il y avait des smartsmaches avec un autre arbre, d 'un certain "thierry......"; j ' ai voulu attendre de finir de rentrer mes donnéespour rentrer en contact avec ce genealogiste, mais impossible de retrouver ces alertes sur nos personnages communs! pourtant j ai bien d autres smartsmashes qui s 'affichent avec d 'autres genealogistes et qui restent à ma disposition, mais impossible de retrouver trace et adresse mail de "thierry"

I am currently looking for some timeline software to produce a timeline of events over a period of about 100 years in order that I can display the life of some of my ancestors and overlay world/local events of that time. In this way I hope to get a graphical feel for my ancestors life and also the times they were living in. Does anyone else use such products to display their research?
Before I spend lots of time and money sourcing a product I thought I would ask the experts (you!).
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what is a good product to use (Pro's and cons) and what I should steer clear of and why? What do I need to be looking out for in terms of functionality to give me the best possible presentation of my information but also hopefully, the ability to drill behind the information in the main timeline to give background notes etc?

LAST NIGHT I FOUND THAT MY FAMILY TREE WAS MISSING A GREAT DEAL OF NAMES. RIGHT NOW IT IS ONLY SHOWING 48 NAMES OUT OF 2802. I'VE CONTACTED MY HERITAGE TWICE THIS MORNING AND IT KEEPS COMING UP THAT THEY ARE UNAVAILABLE TO CHAT RIGHT NOW. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? THE SITE WAS WORKING JUST FINE YESTERDAY MORNING THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN LATER ON IN THE DAY THE FAMILY MEMBER NAMES DISAPPEARED.
My family tree has 626 members and covers the period from 1786 until today. I am interested how this tree compared to the average family tree and how big the time explored
I am an 8th grade history teacher. My students are completing a year long project in which they create a family from Europe and then follow that line through the Civil War. Through these characters that they create, they write journals, letters, etc. commenting on the events that we study in class.
I also want to get them excited about genealogy so that they can research their own families.
Each of my student groups has a family for which they created a family tree. They are very excited about it. However, with the basic service, they cannot print more than chart without being charged.
Does anyone know of any way to get a premium for educational purposes? These kids are 13 years old. My principal said it is not in the budget.
