Did you ever find the answer to your question of how to display note or facts with the person in a report rather than on a separate page? There are situations where the software does not get the relationship right when it comes to second marriage and the relationship of the children with previous spouse.
thanks for any help you may have for displaying the notes or facts with the person.
I have migrated my Family Tree Maker data base to FTB. All the NOTES that I have in FTM do migrate to the NOTES in FTB without any problem. However, the only option in FTB to display the NOTES in at the END of a report - I would like them to display WITH the person in the report.
The only way that I have found to display the NOTES with the person in FTB is to move the notes into the FACTS section and set up a COMMENT. This way, the notes display with the person in the report.
Since I have hunderds of people with NOTES, is there a way to either:
Display the NOTES with the person rather than at the end of a report, or
Automatically move the NOTES to a COMMENT in the FACTS section
(NOTE TO FTB DEVELOPERS - Would like to have option in REPORTS to display NOTES with a person - not just at the end of the report)
There does not seem to be a way to display the notes WITH THE PERSON in the report. The only option is to display the notes AT THE END of the report or NOT AT ALL.
I did send an email to Noa Inbar <noa@myheritage.com> on June 29, 2008 at MyHeritage asking the same question. Maybe if several people send in this request for change, it may get some attention. I would think this would be a minor option change.
The one thing I like about FTB is the ability to include pictures on the Reports, which Family TreeMaker does not allow. However, until FTB changes the NOTES option and fixes a few other bugs (like the second marriage relationship), I am staying with Family Tree Maker.
Tom, when you have the report displayed on your screen check out ALL the options. I know I saw end notes and foot notes but I can't remember exactly where.
I too had the same issues. After half a day I found a post on FAQ. Go to "Family Tree" tab and click on "Summary". Here you will see the option to delete.
I have done this but now can't load a new gedcom in. While it uploads it, an error comes back:-
"There was some problem with the upload file so unable to publish family tree."
I have tried several times and a different gedcom but still no luck. I may try again in a few days.
Me gustaria tener ayuda en español, pues no se como añadir un marido que ya existe en otra parte del arbol sin duplicarlo. Estando la ayuda en ingles no me sirve. gracias
This is not the first time I have used a computer so I'm starting to think it is not just me anymore. Am I the only one having issues with getting information to STAY on the site after you have spent over an hour to type it all in. What the heck is going on here?? I just spent 4 hours typing data in only to log out and have all my stuff gone and the only thing that still remains is the persons name!! This is ridiculous!
I have not had that problem but my suggestion is to store all you data on your computer in a genealogy program and then upload it to the web site. That way you always have your data.
