The link is through marriage of the Barringtons to the Bulkeleys. this takes the relationship back to John Matthew Bulkeley , son of John Marchant Bulkeley, born in Portugal. The Bulkeley line dates back too Norman times- I have it as far as 1190. TheBulkeleys were very wealthy and their sons and daughters married into various aristocratic families all over Europe.
