We can help our family by:

• KEEPING IN TOUCH--Here are some ways:
  • Write, call, visit older and elder relatives especially those who are infirm or homebound.
  • Send a thank you note to a family member who has shown kindness for me or a member of my family.
  • Make an effort to try to get to know and communicate with a different part of the family branch from yours. They are still family and you never know maybe they have a story about one of your elder family members or maybe you've met this person before without knowing that you were related.
  • Encourage and assist the younger generations in doing any of the above.
• CONTRIBUTING TO REUNIONS--Here are some simple ways that you can help with the family reunion in order to make future ones memorable:
  • Suggest a theme for the family reunion. Don't let your suggestion go unheard.
  • Volunteer for a community or assist with a reunion activity.
  • Offer to be available at the next reunion to assist as needed
  • Add information and photos to the "Woolen Family Tree" in order to share with generations to come.
  • Pay reunion fees in order to sponsor more activities, better food, and lots of fun.
• CONTRIBUTE TO THE FAMILY NEWSLETTER AND/OR FAMILY WEBSITE--We all live in different areas and it is important to share the news of our families with one another so that we are able to keep in touch, educate future generations, and to celebrate and honor those who have passed. Here are ways that you can contribute
  • Send in information for events and activities occurring in the family.
  • Add your ancestry information and photos.
  • Interview an older family member of your family for the Oral History Archives.
  • Suggest topics to be covered in the newsletter.
  • Send a change of address, telephone number, or e-mail to the newsletter editor.
