This collection contains civil birth and church baptism records from Opava, Moravian-Silesian, Czechia between the years 1800 and 1920. Records typically include the name of the child, the date and place of birth and the names of the parents.

Locations that were formerly in Czechoslovakia but today are in modern day Poland, are also included within this collection. The religions found within this collection are Catholic, Evangelical, Czech Brethren, Orthodox, and the Czechoslovak Church.
In the Czech language, nouns ending in a consonant take an -a or -e suffix to form the genitive case.
